Position Overview 

We are expanding and looking for an experienced Sales Team Lead with deep expertise in trucking insurance. The right candidate is a proven sales leader with 7+ years of team leadership experience in trucking insurance, a strong ability to coach, inspire, and guide a sales team, and a data-driven mindset to consistently achieve results. 

This is a senior leadership role where you will be directly responsible for building success within the sales department—coaching team members, leading onboarding, driving sales performance, and aligning team strategy with market trends. Responsibilities 

  • Coaching & Feedback. Conduct structured coaching sessions and performance reviews to develop sales producers and ensure accountability. 

  • Performance Management. Analyze CRM and sales data to monitor performance, identify gaps, and implement strategies to improve outcomes. 

  • Onboarding & Training. Personally lead onboarding programs for new producers, providing clear milestones and support from day one until full productivity. 

  • Daily Leadership. Mentor the team in real time during quoting, negotiations, follow-ups, and policy binding. Support client interactions and resolve escalations when needed. 

  • Forecasting & Reporting. Create accurate monthly and quarterly sales reports, providing leadership with insights and actionable recommendations. 

  • Market & Competitor Awareness. Stay informed on competitor strategies, regulatory updates, and market shifts to guide the team’s sales direction. 

  • Client Retention & Partnerships. Lead retention efforts to strengthen client loyalty and renewals. Build strong working relationships with underwriters and carriers to ensure smooth approvals and broaden offerings. 

  • Cross-Department Collaboration. Partner with marketing, operations, and customer service teams to deliver seamless client experiences. 

  • Culture & Team Development. Foster a performance-driven, collaborative culture through structured mentorship and team-building initiatives. 

Job requirements

Requirements 

  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License 

  • 7+ years of proven leadership experience in trucking insurance sales 

  • Documented track record of building and leading successful sales teams 

  • Advanced CRM proficiency with a strong ability to use data in decision-making 

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence
